Noone stays alone: Finta-Walks against the Sunday blues
You may also know the feeling of being the only person on Sundays who doesn’t know what to do with their day, while others go on excursions in their romantic relationships, families or close peer groups; Or being just habby with lying in their bad, watching series and eating pizza. During the pandemic, the feeling exacerbate: encounters often only take place in fixed groups (“virusgroups”). The felt loneliness is even worse on Advent Sundays, which are loaded with expectations of a cozy get-together like hardly any other day.
You know this feeling, but you don’t want to talk about it either, because you are ashamed that you are not embedded in a social network in which you naturally spend your Sunday. But you are not alone with that feeling. Because loneliness isn’t an individual fate. There is even a ministry for loneliness in the UK. Let’s create a space together where everyone who otherwise feels lonely feels welcome. A space in which we don’t have to know a lot of people in order to feel comfortable. A space in which “being cool” is not associated with how many people are known. A space where no one stands alone while the rest is chatting and laughing in their groups. A space where the people who are there, are there.
Because loneliness is not a private problem, loneliness is political.
